The Raintree Fragrance

A scent, designed and developed by students and named The Raintree was launched during the NJC50 Gala Dinner on 17 May 2019. Guests had the privilege of getting their hands on this limited edition diffuser set.

The Raintree project was conceived a year ago to commemorate our golden jubilee, in remembrance of the former raintree which once stood at the heart of the College. The creation of The Raintree was no overnight feat. Throughout the past year, our students have been hard at work, breaking down the bark of the raintree and testing out different extraction methods with various solvents to obtain essential oils from the raintree. After much deliberation and survey of students, teachers, school leaders and alumni, a final selection was made.

The Raintree scent is a blend of apricot peach, violet, agarwood as well as the essential oils extracted from the raintree. It has a fruity bouquet underlined by a woody note. Refreshingly vibrant, yet familiar and soothing, the scent embodies the joyful and lively spirit of NJC, and evokes memories of our days in the College we call home. This fragrance serves to reflect our identity as the College of the Nation.
